Well, it's official. Either I'm crazy or, or, or...someone help me out here.
I've decided to jog a half-marathon, and the count-down is on. I'm all signed up to be running 13.1 miles on beautiful Mercer Island eleven weeks from today. My dear friend Beth and I power-walked the Seattle half-marathon right after Thanksgiving and it was so much fun we decided to try jogging one. A full one.
Well, actually we decided to jog/walk it, hopefully working up to jogging a full one, but the way it's sounding we're gonna go for the gusto, the glory, and the pain, by jogging the whole thing.
Those of you who have done half-marathons probably think I'm making too big a deal out of nothing, but seeing as I just completed my first week of training, I have to say I'm a little worried.
Three miles which currently tires me out, is a far cry from 13.1. And to think I've always thought it would be cool to run a full marathon...we'll see what God has in mind for me. I'm hoping to learn a new meaning to Isaiah 40:31
"but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
